As the situation with COVID-19 develops further, we wanted to share some of the steps we have taken to ensure business continuity as well as support the wellbeing of our staff, project teams and clients.
Fortunate is not a common word of late, but at MNP we are perhaps a little fortunate that our team have been agile working for many years due to our HQ location in Hertfordshire and offices in London and Manchester. We operate a flexible working approach where employees have the ability to work from home. We actively encourage them to limit car journeys, offer the ability to support childcare arrangements when needed, and maintain a healthy balance of work / family life. The need to work effectively, on the move or remotely, is ingrained in our business. Until we are advised otherwise by the UK Government, we will operate a rota system in the office to minimise staff exposure, support those working remotely and maintain the MNP Family. Those at higher risk or requiring self-isolation will stay at home and still have the ability to continue working and serving our clients.
To facilitate this we utilise Circuit for group communications, conferencing, internal meetings and screen sharing. All of our employees can be contacted using their direct dial numbers found at the bottom of their email which connects via Circuit to both their mobile phones and their laptops. Our large data users who are performing analysis, design and modelling are all connected virtually through home terminals to our existing office network with no lag. In recent days we have tested this in bulk with no issues.
In addition, we have been working with clients and project teams testing various conferencing systems including Zoom, Skype, and Teams to limit face to face meetings for the time being. All of which have been very successful and perhaps may even alter the way we all work when we get through this pandemic. If any of our clients would like us to share these experiences, then please feel free to contact us as we are very keen to do what we can to help projects continue smoothly.
Finally, at this time, we want to wish all our friends in the industry well. These are difficult times, but we are a robust business and have implemented our business continuity plan. Our team is focussed on delivering our work and we are as determined as ever to work through this, whilst keeping everyone safe.
All the very best over the coming months.
Stuart Pledge,
Managing Director.
