Located on the exterior wall of a vacant office building, which was due to be demolished, our task was to design a frame so the painting could be removed from the side of the office block and transported to a new location.
The idea was to design a frame to fix in to the existing building masonry without damaging the piece of art and to stabilise around it whilst the contractors cut around the frame.
There was the issue of the staircase being removed from the backside of the wall the painting was positioned on. After the piece was cut from the building it needed to be lifted and placed within the lower stabilisation footings, in order to be safely mounted and transported on the back of the lorry.
