Redevelopment of the former Farthingstone golf course to provide a high quality hotel and leisure complex including visitor accommodation of 60 cabins, a hub building including restaurant and café, and a leisure building consisting of spa, gym and swimming pools. 80% of the site is being managed for nature, with the 100-acre golf course being converted into approximately 80 acres of wildflower meadows and woodlands.
The design has been developed with carbon reduction and sustainability as key drivers. The development features locally sourced materials, timber structures and the omission of cement and concrete where possible. The use of offsite construction is proposed where possible with the adoption of SIPPS panel construction. The completed hospitality venue will aim to operate as net zero carbon, and all buildings will be energy efficient.
