MNP are proud to have been part of the 2018 development of Hitchin Town Cricket and BlueHarts Hockey Club. Members have bid a fond farewell to the old clubhouse, which was their home for more than 70 years.
The project saw a new pavilion and score box buildings replace the historic structures, along with new all-weather pitches, cricket nets, car park and various external works improvements. Users and stakeholders played a large role in the development of the interior and exterior design to improve the facilities to suit club needs. The cantilevered terrace of the pavilion provides uninterrupted views of the sporting facilities with shelter provided by the 3.6m cantilevered steel framed roof. The SuDS strategy across the site maintained infiltration techniques to provide a sustainable way of managing surface water as per the original site.
MNP under took the Civil and Structural Engineering for the works up to Contractor appointment and under took a Client monitoring role after, working alongside Saunders Architects / Moult Walker Project Managers and QS / Morgan Sindall.
