L’Oscar Hotel is a 5-star boutique hotel with restaurant, bar and conference facilities located in Holborn, London.
Additional space for the hotel is proposed by refurbishing the existing adjoining 1890s building on High Holborn, which was previously used as a bank. The extension will comprise of a gym, guest and treatment rooms and other related amenities. Proposed modifications to the existing structure include the installation of a reconfigured staircase, reconstruction of the roof structure to accommodate spatial requirements, and the change of use of the basement from a strong-room to a gym.
Our conservation team undertook a façade survey comprising a visual inspection and drone survey of the existing façades at the adjoining building. Clips from the drone footage can be viewed in the video at the bottom of this page.
Our structural and civil engineering teams were commissioned to design the modifications to the structure and below ground drainage.
